Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Green Slate Roofing & Siding collects when you use greenslateroofing.com, why we collect it, who else can see it, and what you can ask us to do about it. The legal entity behind this site is Green Slate Roofing and Siding, LLC, a Colorado limited liability company.
We are a roofing and siding contractor. We do not sell anything online, we do not take payments through this site, and we do not run accounts or logins for customers. This policy describes an ordinary contractor website with a quote form and a storm-history lookup tool — nothing more.
Information you give us
Quote and contact forms. When you submit a form we receive the name, email address, phone number, and any details about your property or project that you type in. We use this to reply to you and to arrange an inspection or estimate.
Hail-history lookups. If you use the storm-history tool at /hail-history/, the address you search is recorded. That section is below, because it deserves its own explanation.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, this one records technical details of your visit: your IP address, browser and operating system, the type of device you are on, the pages you view, the site or advertisement you arrived from, and the date and time. Analytics and session-recording services described below collect this on our behalf.
Hail-history address lookups
The hail-history tool tells you which hailstorms have been recorded near an address, using free public weather-radar data published by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It is a weather-history tool. It does not assess damage, and radar estimates hail size aloft rather than measuring stones on the ground.
We record every address searched. When you run a lookup we store:
- the address you typed and the standardized address it matched
- the approximate map coordinates that address resolved to
- a summary of the result — how many storms were found, the date of the most recent one, and the largest radar-estimated hail size
- your IP address, browser, operating system and device type
- the page you searched from, the site or advertisement that referred you, and any campaign tags in the link you followed
- your screen size, browser language and browser time zone
- identifiers that let us connect one visit together: a Google Analytics identifier and a short-lived session identifier
Why. So we can follow up with you about storm damage in your area, and so we can tell which of our advertising and pages actually bring people to the tool. If you later submit our quote form in the same browser session, we connect that submission to your lookup so the estimator arrives already knowing which storm you were asking about.
Two things worth being specific about. First, the address you search is not sent to NOAA. Storm records are downloaded to our own server in advance for our whole service area, and your search is answered from that local copy, so the weather service never learns which address you asked about. Second, the address is sent from your browser to the United States Census Bureau geocoding service, which is what converts a street address into map coordinates. That is a free public service operated by the federal government, and it is the only outside party that receives the address you type.
How long we keep it. Lookup records are automatically deleted after 90 days.
We do not sell this information, and we do not share it with data brokers, lead-resale services, or advertising networks.
Location
This site does not ask for, and does not use, your device’s GPS location. The hail-history tool works only from an address you type in yourself. The approximate city and region shown in our records come from your IP address, which is an estimate and is often wrong by some distance.
Cookies, analytics and session recording
The following third-party services run on this site:
- Google Analytics 4 — measures which pages are visited and how people arrive. Sets cookies.
- Microsoft Clarity — records how visitors interact with pages, including a replay of mouse movement, scrolling and clicks, and aggregate heatmaps. See the note below.
- Jetpack Stats — basic traffic counts.
- Google reCAPTCHA — distinguishes people from automated form spam. Subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms.
- CookieYes — displays the cookie notice and stores your preference.
- Cloudflare — serves and protects the site, and can see request details including your IP address.
About session recording. Microsoft Clarity replays interactions with our pages. We have specifically marked the hail-history address field so that what you type into it is hidden from those recordings. We mention this because a replay of somebody typing their home address is exactly the case worth being clear about rather than leaving to a default setting.
About the cookie notice. Be aware that the analytics and session-recording services listed above currently load when the page loads, rather than waiting for a choice in the cookie banner. If you would rather not be measured at all, your browser’s cookie and tracking controls, or an ad- and tracker-blocking extension, are the effective way to prevent it. You can also change your preference at any time through the cookie link in the site footer.
How we use information
To respond to enquiries and schedule inspections and estimates; to prepare and follow up on proposals; to contact you about storm damage recorded near an address you searched; to measure which pages and advertisements work; to keep the site secure and free of spam; and to meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We do not use your information to make automated decisions about you, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, and only so they can do that work. Those are the analytics, anti-spam, hosting and delivery services named above, together with our website host, our email provider, and the software we use to manage enquiries and estimates.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, in response to a valid legal demand, or where necessary to establish or defend a legal claim or to protect someone’s safety.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. See our Do Not Sell policy.
How long we keep information
- Hail-history lookups — 90 days, then deleted automatically.
- Form submissions and correspondence — kept as ordinary business records for as long as needed to serve you and to meet legal, tax, warranty and insurance record-keeping requirements.
- Analytics data — kept on the retention schedule of the service that collected it.
Your rights under the Colorado Privacy Act
If you are a Colorado resident, you have the right to:
- confirm whether we process your personal data, and get a copy of it
- correct inaccuracies
- have your personal data deleted
- obtain your data in a portable format
- opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects
To make a request, email [email protected] with enough detail for us to find your records — for a hail lookup, the address you searched and roughly when. We will respond within the time the law allows. If we decline, you may appeal by replying to our response, and you may contact the Colorado Attorney General.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
California residents

Children
This site is meant for adults arranging work on a property. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and access to enquiry and lookup records is limited to people who need it to do their job. No website can promise perfect security, and we do not claim to — but if you tell us about a problem, we will act on it.
Links to other sites
Our pages link to other websites, including review sites and social profiles. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s site, governed by their privacy policy, not this one.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect or what we do with it, we will update this page and change the date below.
