Colorado Hail History Lookup

Colorado’s Front Range sees more damaging hail than almost anywhere in the country. If you are wondering whether a storm has passed over your neighborhood, enter your address below to see hailstorms recorded nearby over the last five years, using free public weather-radar data from NOAA.

Free NOAA radar data. We record address searches so we can follow up about local storm damage — see our privacy policy.

What this tool shows

Results come from NOAA’s Severe Weather Data Inventory, specifically NEXRAD Level-3 radar hail signatures. For each storm we show the date, the estimated maximum hail size, and how far the storm was detected from the address you entered.

Hail sizes are estimated from radar, not measured on the ground. Radar detects hail in the storm cloud, which means it can register hail that melts before it lands, and it can miss very small hail. A result tells you a storm was recorded near your address. It does not tell you whether your roof was damaged.

Why storm dates matter

Hail damage is often not visible from the ground. Bruised shingles, granule loss and cracked mats can go unnoticed for years while the roof quietly loses life. Knowing when hail actually passed over your home gives you a place to start, and a date to reference when you talk to a roofer.

What to do next

If the lookup shows hail near your address, the sensible next step is a free inspection. We will get on the roof, document what we find with photos, and tell you plainly whether there is damage worth addressing. If your roof is fine, we will tell you that too.
