CCPA – California Consumer Privacy Act
This notice is for California residents and describes rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act. It sits alongside our main Privacy Policy, which describes what this site collects in full and applies to everyone.
The business behind this site is Green Slate Roofing and Siding, LLC, a Colorado roofing and siding contractor working in the Denver metro area and along the Front Range. We are including this notice because our website is reachable from anywhere, not because we market to California.
Colorado residents
Most people reading this are our neighbours rather than Californians. If you are a Colorado resident, the Colorado Privacy Act gives you a comparable set of rights — access, correction, deletion, portability, and opting out of targeted advertising, sale and profiling. Those are set out in the Your rights section of our Privacy Policy, and the request process is the same one described below.
What we collect
In the past twelve months we have collected the following categories of personal information:
- Identifiers — name, postal address, email address, telephone number, IP address, and online identifiers such as an analytics or session identifier.
- Internet and device activity — pages viewed, referring site, campaign tags on links you followed, browser, operating system, device type, screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Geolocation, approximate only — the general city or region estimated from your IP address, and the map coordinates that an address you searched resolves to. We do not collect device GPS.
- Commercial information — the property and project details you provide when requesting an estimate.
- Audio, electronic or visual information — session recordings of how visitors interact with our pages, described in the Privacy Policy.
We collect this from you directly when you fill in a form or use the storm-history tool, and automatically through the analytics and security services named in the Privacy Policy. We do not buy personal information from data brokers.
Why we collect it
To respond to enquiries, arrange inspections and prepare estimates; to follow up about storm damage recorded near an address you searched; to understand which pages and advertisements bring people to the site; to prevent spam and abuse; and to keep the records a contracting business is required to keep.
We do not sell or share personal information
We have not sold personal information in the past twelve months, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising as the CCPA uses those terms. We do not sell or disclose the personal information of anyone under 16. See our Do Not Sell policy.
We do disclose personal information to service providers for business purposes — website hosting, email delivery, analytics, session recording, spam prevention and content delivery. Those providers are named in the Privacy Policy, and each is permitted to use the information only to provide their service to us.
Your rights
If you are a California resident you may ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold — the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we disclosed it to.
- Delete it — subject to the exceptions the law allows, such as records we must keep for tax, warranty or legal reasons.
- Correct it — if what we hold about you is inaccurate.
- Limit use of sensitive personal information — although we do not collect personal information in the categories the CCPA treats as sensitive.
- Opt out of sale or sharing — we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of; the request will be honoured as a matter of record if you make it.
How to make a request
Email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”. Tell us what you want us to do and give us enough information to find your records — for a storm-history lookup, the address you searched and roughly when you searched it.
We will confirm your request and respond within the period the law requires. To protect your privacy we have to be reasonably sure you are who you say you are, or that you are authorized to act for someone else, so we may ask you to confirm details we already hold. We will not ask you to create an account to make a request.
An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with written permission signed by you.
No discrimination
We will not deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lower quality of service because you exercised any of these rights.
